The Buguey Lying-In and Emergency Medical Clinic - It was established by Lloyd Antiporda during his incumbency as mayor of Buguey with the help and support of the officers and staff of the Municipal Health Office. It unofficially started its 24 hour operation on March 11, 2000 at the old fire station, now turned municipal court. The Lying-In Clinic is now housed at the renovated Rural Health Station Building. The idea behind the 24 hour operation is to provide a round the clock medical treatment or first aid to any minor injury or injuries suffered by any Bugueyano, considering the distance of the Provincial Hospitals at Camalaniugan or Aparri. But most importantly is the provision of a birthing place for pregnant women, it is indeed very costly for the poor Bugueyanos to give birth in Aparri or Camalaniugan, especially if they are confined in private hospitals. As of this writing the Lying-In clinic has now delivered more than a thousand babies since it started operating. The average cost of delivering a baby is 1,000 pesos, and it is free for the indigents. Dr. Teddy Unida is the municipal health officer of Buguey, and he also serves as the over-all in charge of its operations. Dr. Pedro Unday, Jr., a private practitioner also helped run the clinic as a medical consultant, he was then of great help to the people of Buguey. We are hoping that upon his return from the USA he will soon rejoin the team. Above all, the people behind this 24 hour operation in terms of workforce are the hardworking health workers of Buguey, nurses and midwives and their casual counterparts. The clinic has also hosted three cataract operations in the past. We just hope and pray that the healthworkers of Buguey will always be vigilant and dedicated in their service to the people. May your tribe increase!

Buguey???????
The Pattao High School, Buguey's first public high school, was established during the administration of the late Mayor Licerio A. Antiporda, Sr., it was supposed to be built at Barangay Leron, a coastal barangay, but since the Northeastern Academy is already located along the coast it was ultimately decided to be built at Pattao to serve more students who comes from the different barangays of Buguey south of the Buguey Lagoon. More than twenty years after( from June 1979 up to January 31, 1988, the Antipordas we're out of power ), the Pattao High School Annex was established in 1994 by then Mayor Licerio A. Antiporda, Jr., students who can't afford to study at the only private high school in town had to go out of Centro to study at Pattao, and that Northeastern Academy could not possibly accomodate all, even those who can afford to study thereat. These considerations were the strongest reasons for the immediate establishment of the extension school which is now known as the Licerio Antiporda Sr. High School, and which is now serving students from the coastal barangays of Buguey. Next came the LASHS Annex at Sta. Isabel, LASHS Annex at Dalaya, and the Pattao High School Annex at Maddalero, all of which were established just recently during the term of then Mayor Lloyd M. Antiporda. All three new high schools have already graduated their pioneer students and each school population is steadily growing. Now, as to whether a progressive Buguey may not at all be correlated to the Antipordas, then, go ask the students who were benefitted, and their parents who no longer needs to spend so much for their fare just to go to school.

Buguey Gymsasium 2b continued soon!!!!!!!
The Buguey Multi-Purpose Building or gymnasium at El Presidente will soon be continued, even if it is not the priority of the present administration of Buguey it will definitely receive funding from Hon. Sally Ponce Enrile as it was former Cong. Jack Enrile who provided the funding with the initial construction, we owe it all to them, the LGU has not spent a single peso for the construction. Save for the paint that were bought by the engineering office for painting the protruding steel bars to prevent it from corroding.
(BUCE) Buguey Current Events/04/08
Hello to all! Just a little bit of information to all Bugueyanos. The ongoing construction of the sea wall at Barangay Centro, Buguey, Cagayan is the initiative of former mayor boy antiporda and the town council. The said project was funded through the efforts of Sen. JPEnrile and Cong. JPEnrile. Without them the said project could not have been possible. The ongoing project has a funding of 15 million pesos and is about to be completed, just in time as another release of funding in the same amount is forthcoming. The seawall project is being undertaken by DJ Builders Construction, the same contractor who built the earlier seawall sometime in 1990. It has been almost 18 years and the said original seawall at Centro, Buguey is still in very good shape. The original cottage of El Presidente came before the construction of the seawall, it was because of the prospects of tourism that then mayor antiporda prioritized the seawall, and it has indeed protected El Presidente Beach House since its establishment. Now the seawall is moving westward, but a seawall from Minanga Buguey to San Antonio, Aparri will be costing so much money, in the meantime we should concentrate our resources into the portion of the coastline that badly needs the protection of a seawal, and that is Centro. Next should be the rehabilitation of the Paddaya Seawall and the construction of a new one at Minanga Weste and Este.
