“I will make Cagayan a fruit basket. That includes Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Aurora, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Isabela up to Cagayan,” Enrile said.
“The land is quite vast and it is enough to produce food to feed the whole country,” Enrile said. “Its proximity to some of the country’s big trading partners and the presence of Sta. Ana Port, the only seaport in the region, very well bolster the economic plan for Northern Luzon.”
Enrile said he also wants to see completion of a highway that runs through the country’s Pacific coast from the Cagayan region in the north to Quezon in Southern Tagalog. He said he would also support the airport project in Lal-lo.
The two projects, Enrile said, will boost tourism in the area.
